Hi! Im Gena

My name, said “JEH-nuh” has been a lifelong challenge correcting it’s pronunciation. The spelling is short for my grandmothers name, Genevieve. So there you have it, it’s Gena.

I was born and raised in Asheville, North Carolina, where I currently reside and work as a studio jeweler. My journey into the world of metals and jewelry design began at Appalachian State University where I received my BFA in 2014, and I’ve been dedicated to the craft ever since.

My work explores modern jewelry design using age-old metalsmithing tools and techniques. Classically trained, I use precious metals and gemstones to create heirloom quality jewelry that combines traditional and contemporary conceptions. Most recently, I have focused my work around hand-push engraving, a somewhat lost art, allowing me to truly create one of a kind work.

Jewelry making aside, I enjoy a simple life with my sweet angel dog, Ruby.
